KTF Co., Korea¡¯s second-largest mobile phone service provider, will launch an
investor roadshow beginning May 24, 2004 on the company¡¯s business plan. The three week campaign, led by its CEO, is
expected to provide details on how the firm plans to market its services.
Starting in Singapore, the roadshow will be followed by the same in Eight major
cities in the United States, Europe and Asia.
KTF, which has about 1.5 million wireless
service subscribers among Korea¡¯s 35-million-strong cellular
phone market, has been under pressure due to falling profitability and fierce
competition with market leader SK Telecom Co.
In the first quarter of 2004, the company¡¯s net profit declined 47 percent to 49 billion won
(U$41.5 million), compared with 92 billion won a year earlier, the seventh consecutive monthly fall. Operating profits
also dropped 47 percent to 105 billion won as the company spent heavily on
marketing promotional activities.
